White to Yellow Belt Test


The white belt test is your first grading! You may feel nervous, but you have NOTHING to worry about – it’s just another day of training. Be strong, and have fun! Here is a summary of the grading requirements to help you.

The examiner will call your name, and tell you where to line up

First is kihon! (basics)

Gedan barai (down block in front stance) At the beginning of each exercise. Kiai each time

 

 

Oi-tsuki (step-in Punch) 3 punches by count, stomach level. Kiai on the 3rd one

 

 

Age uke(rising block) stepping back, 3 blocks by count. Kiai on the 3rd one

 

 

Soto uke (outside block) 3 blocks by count. Kiai on the 3rd one

 

 


Maegeri (front snap kick in front stance) Keep your hands stiff at your sides. Kick stomach level, snap your kick back, and kiai on the last one

 

Next is kata!Heian Shodan

Last is kumite: 3 Step sparring by count, in partners
